OLLI Field Trip - Dahlonega

Join us as we show our southern hospitality to our special guests all the way from Japan!  Students from Kanda University of International Studies have trekked their way across the globe to experience what college life is like at KSU!  We thought it would be fun to join them on an adventure to Dahlonega where we will learn about the rich history of the region.  We’ll board the bus and leave the KSU Center at 8:45am and head to the North Georgia Premium Outlets.  After a bit of retail therapy, we’ll head to The Smith House to enjoy a delicious southern meal served family-style.  After lunch, we’ll make our way to the Consolidated Gold Mine where we will travel underground to a REAL mine and learn about the fascinating history of the 1828 gold discovery that sparked the nation’s first major gold rush.  Following the tour, we’ll try our luck at panning for gold!  Transportation, tour ticket, and lunch are included in the price.  Space is limited.  Register by February 7th.
