Banned Books - A Literary Study of Current Banned Novels


The course will include a literary analysis of four prominent novels, an introduction to banned and expurgated books in America, and class judgment on the "trigger passages" which caused the books to be banned. The four novels: Toni Morrison, The Bluest Eye, Art Spiegelman, Maus, Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid's Tale, Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird.
