| Asked to introduce himself once at a social event, Ford answered , "I'm John Ford, I do westerns." Though he was famous for the many classic westerns he directed, he was responsible for even more classic non-westerns. This course will view and discuss 8 of the very best of Ford's non-western films, from "The Informer" in the 1930's and " Grapes of Wrath" in the '40"s to "The Quiet Man" in the 1950's, he created a body of work that alone would have earned him the title of the greatest American Director of the first half of the 20th century.
