Introduction to Poetry Writing

How do poets use limited language to describe the inexpressible human experience? They learn through purposeful habits of reading, writing, and revising. In this six-week course, we will examine how contemporary poets describe their worlds with risk, intentionality, and wonder. We will read poems aloud, study how they are built, and learn valuable tools of the trade. At the end of each class, students will craft their own poems, eventually choosing one to share at the end of the course. Join us as we discover the joy of reading and writing poetry!
