Revit Architecture Intermediate Certificate Online Live

Continue building your knowledge of the Autodesk Revit software by learning to create and modify mass elements into many different shapes. Utilize Revit’s space planning tools to set up areas for rooms and apply colors to mark the different areas. Create, embellish, and render perspective views for presentations to highlight walls, roofs, and floors. Learn the tools necessary to create topographic surfaces for site work and add structural elements, while also utilizing the software to collaborate within a project, between projects, and with other users, firms, and disciplines. Link and import Revit and other CAD files. By the end of the course, you will be able to use Revit’s powerful Building Information Modeling (BIM) engine to render a drawing from a concept to a complete model.
 
  • Create In-Place Conceptual Mass elements
  • Use rooms and areas for space planning and analysis
  • Create perspectives, sketches, exploded views, and solar studies
  • Render views that include materials, lighting, and enhancements such as people and plants
  • Create topographic surfaces, property lines, and building pads
  • Annotate site plans and add site components
  • Modify toposurfaces with subregions, splitting surfaces, and grading the regions
  • Create structural grids and add columns
  • Add foundation walls, footings, beams, and beam systems
  • Create framing elevations and add braces
  • Set up project phasing
  • Use multi-discipline coordination including Copy/Monitor and Coordination Review
  • Import and export vector and raster files
  • Link Autodesk Revit files
 
Prerequisites: Students should have successfully completed our Revit Architecture Essentials Certificate or have equivalent experience prior to enrolling.  An understanding of architectural terminology is an asset. Basic working knowledge of computers and access to computer and Internet are required.
 
Requirements: Textbooks are required at the first class meeting and are available at the KSU Center bookstore.

Special notice: This class will be delivered online. You will need access to a computer with an internet connection that remains stable for the duration of the class. Though a chat feature is available, a microphone is preferred. For most productive audio/video participation, a webcam and/or headset are encouraged. All virtual classes will be recorded.
