During this 6 week course, I will create a safe, open-minded space for you, my fellow immigrant. A place where we will collect and share our stories.
Every week we will sit down together and write stories about our loss of family, friends, food and language. Sharing the quirky side of writing and speaking a new language in a strange country. We will explore the truths and myths of being a foreigner and how it affects our lives.
Our stories matter to us and it matters to people who read them. Our stories create understanding and a sense of pride as we expand our horizons.
Moving countries or even continents are high on the list of most stressful impacts on peoples lives. I have been living in the USA for just over 3 years now and English is also my second language.
This space will be open to all who want to write through the loss of shared experiences; where we will be understood and respected.
