The Online Certificate in Applied Statistics using R has been developed for working professionals who have a need for additional training in Statistics. This online program is an integrated extension of the highly respected traditional curriculum in Applied Statistics at Kennesaw State University. It provides much of the same instruction as our traditional courses — but with a more highly applied approach to course materials and exams — all of which are self-paced to fit your schedule.
To complete the Certificate, you must pass five courses. These courses and their associated learning objectives are provided below. Please note that all work is completed using R version 3.1.0 (or newer).
No application is required to register for this course.
Hardware Requirements: You must have a computer and some kind of high-speed internet connection – we recommend a 128mbps connection at a minimum. You should also have a headset, preferably with a microphone (you can purchase these for less than $30 at any electronics store), which will allow you to engage in online conversations with professors as needed.
Software Requirements: You will be required to have access to R. R is freely available open source statistical analysis environment. The first course in the online certificate program is an introduction to R. It includes information on downloading and installing R.
