Civil War - The Atlanta Campaign

During the early days of May 1864, the Federal armies of Major General William T. Sherman entered Georgia, and began moving toward Atlanta. General Joseph E. Johnston and the Army of Tennessee attempted to thwart their advance, and a campaign of maneuvers resulted. This course will cover the military action from the opening engagements near Tunnel Hill to the fall of Atlanta. This course will detail military action in Cobb County.  This course will be held at the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville and the course fee includes a tour of the museum.
