Let's Go Outside and Paint in Plein Air: An introduction to the exciting world of Plein Air, where international artist compete around the world. Gain skills that will allow you to paint fresh, life like paintings that express the light and excitement of the landscape. A great way to enjoy your local landscape, history, and record your travels. First class will be in the studio - We'll start with an evaluation of the students basic skills, their needs, their goals. We'll review materials and a check list of essentials for painting  outside. Six classes will be taught outside at various locations in the area. Each will start with a demo stressing the basics of good outdoor painting: composition, value (tone) and color. Outdoor painting is all about capturing the light and this will be emphasized. The goal will be for everyone to execute a finished painting on every session. We will paint gardens, lakes, the Chattahoochee River, street scenes, historical architecture and more. Finally there will be a class in the studio on how to enlarge your work and tips on showing your work professionally; including varnishing, framing, and presentation. We will also review local competition opportunities and application procedures. The final class will be a class show organized by the students
