Western American Art History 101

Learn the history of Western Art from Catlin and Bodmer, through Remington and Russell, including the art colonies of Taos and Santa Fe, and on through the living masters of today.  Class time includes interactive discussions through the examination of art from Booth Western Art Museum's collection led by the Museum's Executive Director, Seth Hopkins.  The fifth session will include a trip to the Booth where Hopkins will lead students through the galleries while engaging in group discussion.  Suggested textbook: The West of the Imagination, Goetzmann and Goetzmann.
