Many of us have a tale to tell, often humerous or entertaining, that may have happened to you, or is passed on from another "story teller". The story conjures up an image, right? So, what if you could embelish the scene by adding an image, real or imagined?
This course is intended to illuminate your own story with a sequence of sketched panels, like those found in the comic section of the newspaper, but more. Inspiration for this course comes from a classic (1892) book of illustrations, The Bull Calf and Other Tales, told and illustrated by A. B. Frost. Famous for his witty technique to capture action with a few strokes of the pen, we will attempt to duplicate his style in class, then explore ways to depict scenes from our own tales.
This course is offered to artists with previous graphite drawing experience. Experience with the use of micropen, or pen and ink is a plus. Prior to coming to class, examine A.B. Frost and his work on the internet to be certain the content of this course is right for you. This will not be your traditional "art class"!
