This online program will lead you through Microsoft Project 2016 features and functions one step at a time. This program will help you to gather the knowledge necessary to prepare for the Managing Projects with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) exam and provide the prerequisite training hours for Project Management Institute’s Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)® credential or PDUs to maintain your PMI qualified certifications. You will learn how to plan out your work and keep projects on track using this powerful software. In addition, you will gain confidence and competency through hands-on practice exercises. You’ll be guided by a facilitator who is an expert using Microsoft Project. This program combines knowledge of project management scheduling disciplines with the use of the Microsoft Project 2016 software.
Prerequisites: Students must already have access to the Microsoft Project 2016 software. The software will not be provided with the course. You also cannot participate in this course using a Mac computer.
Requirements: This program is not Mac compatible. It can only be taken on a PC. It is compatible with the Windows 7 and later operating systems and IE 7 and later browsers. There are no specific computer requirements other than an Internet connection, e-mail account, and Windows Media Player (which is available as a free download). We recommend that you use the latest version of Internet Explorer in place of other Web browsers.
You either need to purchase Microsoft Project 2016 before enrolling in this program or you must already have it installed on your computer. You cannot use any previously released versions of the Microsoft Project software. This is a hands-on course that calls out specific keystroke commands. Future software (2016+) will include or exclude functions, features and menu options. Additional compatibility challenges will exist with using the required practice files. You can use Microsoft Project 2016 Standard for this program; however, the program will also cover some features/ functions that are only available in the Professional edition. The main difference is that you won’t be able to do the hands-on exercises associated with the more advanced functions.
