This program will provide everything you need to make it happen! Learn the ins and outs of electronic health records (EHR) systems, along with the many benefits they offer medical practices. You'll get hands-on practice using real EHR software as you prepare to take the National Healthcareer Association's (NHA) CEHRS certification exam. The cost of the exam is included in your tuition.

Learning Objectives:
  • Manage patient visits, arranging follow-up care, and issuing prescriptions
  • Keep track of vital information, such as patient allergies and medications
  • Communicate with patients and reporting public health information
  • Establish the appropriate EHR for your practice
Prerequisites: In order to sit for national certification exams, candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent; therefore, it is recommended you have this before enrolling for this program. 

Requirements: This program can be taken from either a Mac or a PC. It is compatible with the Windows XP and later operating systems, Firefox, Chrome, or IE 7 and later browsers. There are no specific computer requirements other than an Internet connection, e-mail account, Microsoft Word (for assignment submissions), and Windows Media Player (which is available as a free download). Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Acrobat Reader are required for this program.

The Paperless Medical Office: Using Harris CareTracker & Medical Terminology for Health Professions, 6th Edition
Access to the electronic health record (EHR) software within the course is only accessible using Internet Explorer.
