« back to classes page
This course will discuss many criminal law issues commonly portrayed in television dramas such as “Law & Order” and “Blue Bloods.”  We will discuss the differences between murder and manslaughter, 1st and 2nd degree murder, and voluntary and involuntary manslaughter.  We will explore felony murder, how and why prosecutors make deals, when self-defense is justified, and what constitutes entrapment.  We will also examine police searches and seizures, interrogation techniques and confessions, and the role of the judge and jury.  Finally, we will discuss several Black Lives Matter cases and highlight some interesting legal aspects of each case. Bottomline: my goal is to present a fun, interesting, and interactive class with no homework and no exams.
