This Intermediate course picks up where the Basic course left off, taking you right into the PC. You’ll start with detailed information on installing and configuring hard drives and removable drives, and then spend the rest of the course knee-deep in Windows. You’ll learn about the operating system from installation to operations, maintenance to troubleshooting. The course finishes with an in-depth look into installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting printers.


Prerequisite: CompTIA A+ Certification Preparation Basic

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the hard drive.
  • Explore removable media options.
  • Learn how to install, organzie, and understand the Windows operating system.
  • Get comfortable working with a command line interface.
  • Optimize Windows for maximum performance.
  • Learn about printer technologies and how to install and maintain printers.

Requirements: Internet access, e-mail, Firefox or Internet Explorer web browser, and a Windows PC that you can experiment on (not your primary computer).

Select your start date and then create a Username and Password. You must make an 80 or higher on the final exam (online) to successfully complete the course. You may only take the exam once.
