This course covers Chapters 1-4 of the Textbook. Students will first see words that are similar in English and Spanish. The lesson will transition into vocabulary related to school and the classroom. Students will study the family and how to express family relationships. Thereafter, regular “ar” verbs will be introduced, and students will practice forming simple sentences. Finally, students will have “hands-on” experience with certain components of Spanish culture. Required Textbook: SPANISH IS FUN, Lively Lessons for Beginners, Book 1, Fifth Edition, (Heywood Wald / Lori Langer de Ramirez) ISBN: 978-1-63419-928-5.
